CDs who served on the 'Gunline'
HMAS Brisbane on the Gunline. The forward Mount 51 is missing because a shell exploded in the barel - fuze problem.
Apparently happened to other USN ships at this time - all ammo dumped over the side........

In March '67, HMAS Hobart joined the US 7th Fleet to provide gunfire support missions. In 5 years of service RAN destroyers steamed over 397,000 miles and fired 102,546 5 inch rounds.
HMAS Hobart - 3 deployments and fired a total of 42,475 rounds in support of ground troops.
HMAS Perth - 3 deployments, firing 30,711 rounds.
HMAS Brisbane - 2 deployments, firing 15,651 rounds and
HMAS Vendetta - 1 deployment, firing 13,709 rounds.
