RANCDA Reunion-2009

BI-ANNUAL CLEARANCE DIVERS REUNION
DARWIN - JUNE 2009

The Darwin Reunion

Anne and I left the Sunshine Coast to drive to Darwin on the 28th of May with an ETA of 2 June, all went well with the exception that accommodation at Cammoweal and Mataranka Springs left a lot to be desired.
We arrived Darwin late PM on the 2nd and booked into the Hotel, Cullen Bay Resort, where we were met by a swag of early arrives and continued on to the local fish Restaurant for lots of talk and some dinner.
The organisation provided by Mark Every, Mike Apathy, Milton Miller, Peter Anderson and their wives was outstanding in every way no thinking was required and we sampled everything from a visit to the Litchfield National Park, WW II Tour, dinner under a B52 and to cap it off a Harley Davidson Tour of Darwin. The Darwin Chapter is to be commended in every way.
The Dinner in the Aviation Museum was an event in itself with a great light show and good eats, wine and company. Attendees ranged from the first RAN CDO Phil Hawke to the newly appointed Patrol Boat CO Steve Woodman.
We attended a reception at Government House and received an outstanding address from the local Minister who gave us a lot of BZs, which are always welcome.
Sydney has a hard act to follow to keep up the standard provided by the Cairns Chapter at our first Reunion followed an equally successful event in Darwin. My congratulations to all.
I commend you all to the Associations web page for a look at a range of photos of the event it's at
